C-Quest Capital LLC (CQC) is a social impact project developer whose purpose is to transform the lives of families in poor communities around the world. We do this by providing access to sustainable energy services and clean energy technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, combat global climate change, and improve the health of those in need. CQC was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Washington D.C., USA, with subsidiaries in India, Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia and on-ground teams in Malawi and Zambia.

​We develop high impact carbon finance projects under three operational platforms: Cleaner Cooking, Efficient Lighting and Sustainable Energy. We develop and implement our Transformation Carbon projects directly with our own subsidiaries or through our diverse array of field-based partners for maximum investment impact.

CQC has active carbon project operations in over 13 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, Central America, and South and Southeast Asia that have improved the lives of over 20 million people. We are helping to close the energy gap globally to provide the best investment we can make for a healthier humanity and healthier planet.

Before co-founding CQC, Ken was Managing  Director at Goldman Sachs in the Fixed Income,  Currency and Commodities Division in New York;  Vice-Chair and Co-manager of Carbon Markets for  Climate Change Capital. Before joining the private sector, Newcombe pioneered the global carbon trade and launched and managed in the World Bank eight carbon funds with one billion dollars under management.

 

He has a doctorate in energy and natural resource management and health from the  John Curtin School of Medical Research, Australian National University, and Business Management training from Harvard Business School. Before coming to the US he was CEO of the Papua New Guinea Power Utility and Head of Energy Planning for PNG.

As an entrepreneur, investor, adviser, and board member, Mark has been a leader in the development and financing of renewable energy, carbon, and clean technologies for over 25 years. He has founded and led two specialist investment banking firms focused on the low carbon economy: Impax Capital (1994) and Climate Change Capital (2002), where he raised the world’s largest private-sector carbon fund (over $1 billion) in 2005 and served as the Chair of the Investment Committee.

 

Mark has been the adviser, investor, or principal in c. 100 cleantech transactions with total capital deployed of over US$5 billion. Mark has also acted as a non-executive board member of a dozen companies and has been a member of half a dozen investment committees for clean energy infrastructure and technology funds.

Richard has over ten years of experience as a  finance executive, working with companies as both an advisor and an investor. Prior to joining CQC,  Richard served as the Chief Financial Officer for Revolution Energy Solutions, a company focused on the production of renewable energy and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through projects that operate on agricultural platforms throughout the U.S.

 

Richard was primarily responsible for raising capital to construct and operate these projects and also led the company’s project development efforts with government agencies and electric utilities.

Jason is a clean energy program manager with nearly 15 years of experience. Prior to re-joining CQC where he worked as an Operations Manager on the Cleaner  Cookstoves Platform in 2012-2013, Jason worked at SNV as the Sector Leader of Renewable Energy for Cambodia, with a key responsibility of managing SNV Cambodia’s renewable energy portfolio and expanding their operations.

 

Prior to CQC, Jason was a Manager at International Resources Group (IRG)  and staff and consultant for 10 years at the World Bank working on carbon finance and decentralized rural energy projects in Southeast Asia.
